I know that my two youngest boys are often times unbearable to be around. Today was no exception! It was so miserable to be home with them that I just gathered them all up and we left as quick as possible. I figured a short trip to CVS would break up the day.... And I… Continue reading Unruly Children
To start... I'd like to say hello to my new, and veteran readers!! I am truly honored to have anyone read anything I write! I absolutely love writing! I have four kids, four boys! I've heard it all.... You've got your hands full! - Oh, wow! Four boys! - Are they all yours?!? - You're a busy lady! - Are you done?! - Are you going to try for a girl?! - Wow, you're very blessed! - You have such sweet boys -… Continue reading My Four Boys
Earlier this month my friend and fellow blogger, Kate, wrote about kindness in her family. Really, how they struggle with kindness on a daily basis. You can read her full blog post here. She's much more eloquent with words than I am and has a real gift for articulating her thoughts in writing. Funny.... the… Continue reading Teaching Kindness???
Today is my absolute favorite day of the year! A close second to Christmas and then Thanksgiving, today April 10, is my hubbys birthday! Yes, I adore my husband Joseph. His birthday is a very special day, but the reason it's my favorite day is because it's the day we met! you'll have to excuse… Continue reading My Favorite Day!
I think I figured it out! What this is, what I'm doing, or want to be doing. It kinda started with the show Fixer Upper. If you haven't seen the show, well... it's definitely something special. It shows home renovations done by a sweet married couple, Chip and Joanna Gaines, living in Waco, Texas with… Continue reading It all comes together at Home
I recently wrote about seasons of life. With kids around, quiet time is precious and hard to find. I'm still waking up throughout the night to nurse a baby or sooth a toddler. Luckily my older boys sleep great! As a matter of fact, they're the opposite of the little guys. The big boys have… Continue reading How do you make time for God?
Being a mom is hard!! I think I'm going to have an hour to myself because the baby is finally asleep, schoolwork is finished for the day and the big kids have taken the toddler outside to play. I forget that it's almost lunch time. I hurriedly get out my computer because I have an… Continue reading Mommy Seasons
I'm in a bit of a frump right now, a little lost and unsure of myself. I know I have a lot to say, but I don't feel really confident putting it out there. It was a lot easier before I started taking notice of ALL of the people "out there" in "internet land" who… Continue reading What am I doing???
I love our English Lesson books! They are full of beautiful poetry, artwork and lovely short stories. They have nice short lessons that teach proper grammar and give opportunities for creativity and writing. My boys look forward to the lessons and so do I. Today, my 5th grader brought me a little story that he… Continue reading English Lessons bringing out the Beauty
I live in a bubble, surrounded by only what I choose to let in. I'm not sure how, or why I get to have this life. I know that it can all disappear in an instant. So, even on "tough" days like the day after the time change, I will choose to see the beauty life has to offer. I will choose to appreciate my life, my family, friends and home.
Is it just me, or has oatmeal become a little overwhelming?! There's steel cut oats, rolled oats, fast cooking oats and instant oats. You can cook them on the stove top, in the microwave or with boiling water. You can bake your oats or cook them in your crockpot. Then there's overnight oats, prepared with… Continue reading How do you like your oatmeal?
One of the reasons finding balance in life can be difficult, is because life is ever changing. As we grow and change, so do our interests, jobs, and priorities.
If you're a parent, chances are you've felt like this. Felt like the world's biggest failure, that you have no idea what you're doing, that you're just not cut out for this. Those moments when your toddler just won't calm down, he's totally amped and there's absolutely nothing you can do about it. You leave… Continue reading I’m Not Cut Out For This!
Creative outlets are wonderful! It's fun to make beautiful things! Using my time doing things that I love makes me happy; and if I'm happy I'll be a better wife, mom, friend, daughter, sister... you get the idea. Creating to add beauty to the world helps me stay focused on all of the positive things life has to offer. I'm sure my interests and passions will continue to morph and change, as does most everything in life. Change is good, but it's comforting to know that my love for my family and the passion I have for them will always be there. With each creative moment or outlet, or whatever you want to call it, they are the most important, worthwhile thing that I can spend my time on.
